Premier Inn PR Broadcast Campaign 'Paul O'Grady's Little Heroes'

In this heart-warming six-part series on ITV, Paul O’Grady visits Great Ormond Street Hospital and the new Premier Inn Clinical Building to spend time with the remarkable and brave children being treated there and the inspiring staff who care for them.

Issue
Every day, 618 children and young people across the UK arrive at GOSH. Young lives hang in the balance as patients, families and staff battle the most complex illnesses.

Insight
Premier Inn has been proudly supporting this incredible hospital since 2012. Since then, we have pledged to raise £7.5 million towards a brand-new medical facility at the hospital. Named in honour of the partnership, the Premier Inn Clinical Building has meant children have been able to move out of old facilities into new ones. Plus, parents can stay comfortably with their children overnight. It was officially opened by HRH, The Duchess of Cambridge, in January 2018.

Idea
ITV’s brand-new TV series, Paul O’Grady’s Little Heroes, is based at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and provides a unique insight into one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals. Visiting the Premier Inn Clinical Building, Paul O’Grady brings his unique blend of warmth and humour to the hospital as he meets a number of children from all corners of the UK. Each of the six 30-minute episodes focuses on two to three children and their journey through their specialist and pioneering treatment.

Impact
The show not only raised awareness of GOSH, it also recognised Premier Inn as one of its charitable partners, shining the light on the Premier Inn Clinical Building that helps thousands of children every year. With the help of one of the nation’s most-loved TV presenters, Paul O’Grady engaged with everyone from the patients to the staff, where his genuine kindness and warmth shone through. A charming documentary that stood out from the crowd, the series was uplifting, life-affirming and, most importantly, real.
